NEW YORK — A paramedic, songwriter and rapper has released a music video for his newest EMS-themed rap song, titled “Here I Come.”

Paramedic Farooq Muhammad, whose stage name is EMS BUFF, said he was inspired to write the song after reflecting on his 20-year career in EMS, and recognizing the undying passion and resilience of EMS providers and other first responders through crises including the World Trade Center attacks, hurricanes and the current COVID-19 pandemic.

“I considered these things when I wrote the song and feel proud of my brothers and sisters who are on the front lines dealing with this health crisis,” Muhammad said. “I urge all first responders to seek guidance when they need it the most and to never feel fearful of sharing their feelings. If I had to do this all over again, I would still pursue this career without hesitation. It led to the most rewarding experiences of my life.”
