SIMCOE COUNTY, Ontario — A paramedic helped save a woman from jumping off an overpass this week.
Paramedic Ben Valentine was in his ambulance when he saw a woman stumbling and heading toward a bridge Tuesday.
Valentine asked the woman if she needed help, but said she became erratic and got closer to the overpass. He said he was able to grab the woman before she jumped.
“It humbles you. It brings to home a different aspect of our job, saving a life before it gets to that point,” Valentine told CTV News.
Two other paramedics arrived to the scene and spoke with the woman, who was transported to the hospital.
