President Trump approves major disaster declaration for Texas

FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to Texas to help recovery efforts for those affected by Hurricane Harvey

WASHINGTON — The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has made federal disaster assistance available to the state of Texas in order to help areas affected by Hurricane Harvey.

President Trump’s approval made federal funding available for those in Bee, Goliad, Kleberg, Nueces, San Patricio and Refugio counties. The funding can be used for temporary housing, home repairs, low-cost loans and other resources needed to recover from the disaster.

Kevin Hannes was named federal coordinating officer for federal recovery operations in the area.
