SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — An EMT who has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman in the back of an ambulance pleaded not guilty Thursday.
WDTN.com reported that Sam Conkel, 24, was arraigned on sexual battery and gross sexual imposition charges. Conkel worked for First Care Ohio and investigators said he sexually assaulted a woman who was sedated while being transported to another hospital.
The woman felt Conkel touching her inappropriately and DNA evidence found on a blanket that covered her matched Conkel.
A judge continued Conkel’s bond of $15,000 and ordered him to have no contact with the victim.
If convicted, Conkel faces a maximum of six and a half years in prison.
