HALTON, Ont., Canada — A 57-year-old paramedic has been charged after an adult female patient reported being sexually assaulted inside an ambulance last October.
According to the Oakville Beaver, the charges follow a thorough investigation by police that lasted weeks.
The same suspect was also tied to two counts of possession of child pornography in April, following a separate investigation by an Ontario Police task force that resulted in the arrest of 80 individuals.
Since those charges were laid in the spring, the medic has been on unpaid leave from his job at Halton Region Paramedic Services, pending the results the company’s internal investigation.
He is currently facing charges of sexual assault and voyeurism.
