SAN DIEGO — A firefighter who responded to a medical call at a retirement community stayed behind to play ping pong with a 101-year-old woman.
The CW San Diego reported that a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department crew spotted 101-year-old Marjorie Harford playing ping pong alone while on the call, and staff members told them she was always looking for a good opponent.
“I just play ping pong. I don’t know why I am good,” Harford said.
Firefighter Nick Plancich offered to play with her after the patient was loaded into the ambulance.
“I thought he would beat me, but he didn’t. He couldn’t believe how good I was,” Harford said.
The department posted a video of the game on their Facebook page, and it has been viewed over 9,000 times.
