SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A former EMT has been sentenced to 21 years and 10 months in prison for making child pornography at the fire station where he worked.
The Springfield News Leader reported Nicholas James Dickerson photographed himself sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl in the living area at a fire station.
After Dickerson sold his iPhone in 2015, an employee found the photos in a deleted picture folder. The employee notified the business owner and called the police.
Dickerson admitted to investigators he had taken the photos and that he had abused the girl on several occasions, according to the report.
In addition to the nearly 22 years in prison, Dickerson was sentenced to a lifetime of supervised release. Dickerson was an employee of the Western Taney (Mo.) County Fire Protection District as an EMT and a volunteer firefighter.
