HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A paramedic and off-duty firefighter who both noticed a burning truck on the side of the road stopped to save the man who was inside.
WHNT reported that a paramedic was driving an ambulance on the highway when he saw a burning pickup truck that crashed into trees after running off the road.
The paramedic pulled over, ran to the truck, broke the window with his arm after failed attempts to get the door open and pulled the driver to safety.
An off-duty firefighter who was also passing by stopped to help the paramedic and administered CPR to the victim.
An EMS crew arrived and rushed the driver, who had life-threatening injuries, to the hospital.
The paramedic who pulled the driver to safety was also treated for smoke inhalation and cuts on his arm. He is fully recovered.
