OMAHA, Neb. — A firefighter is asking for donations for mass casualty kits for first responders due to the rise in active shooter incidents.
KETV reported that Omaha firefighter Dustin Talacko wants to raise $25,000 to make emergency response vehicles more prepared for mass casualty incidents.
His Bleeding and Shock Kit would include combat application tourniquets, Israeli pressure dressings, occlusive dressings, decompression needles, gauze rolls, trauma sheers and Coban rolls.
Talacko wants the kits to be in all 16 Omaha Fire Department ambulances, seven battalion chief vehicles and one paramedic supervisor vehicle.
