NORTH HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A woman was reunited with an EMT who helped deliver him in an ambulance 35 years ago.

TribLive.com reported that Halle Siniawski Copeman was born on Oct. 11, 1982 in North Huntingdon’s Rescue 8 ambulance while en route to a hospital. At the time, it was the first delivery experience for the crew.

Copeman has wanted to meet the EMT who delivered her for years; coincidentally, a charity golf outing brought them back together.

“It’s just such a neat thing that we found each other and finally got to meet after all these years,” Copeman said.

A mutual friend, who had heard the story of the ambulance delivery from his friend and co-worker Jim Acton, a former EMT with North Huntingdon Rescue 8, signed Acton up for the golf outing that Copeman was working at.

“I’ve always wanted to meet him and thank him,” Copeman said.

Acton said it was one of the greatest days of his life.

“Every EMT in the world wants to deliver a baby,” he said. “It’s just a great thing.”

Acton volunteered with Rescue 8 for another eight years, but never delivered another baby.
