VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. — After only working seven shifts, rookie dispatcher Katie Farber successfully helped a man deliver his wife’s baby over the phone.
Farber, 25, instructed the man to coach his wife through each contraction.
“I was poised, the dispatcher was poised. It was a tremendous experience,” Supreme Dow told Inside Edition.
Dow, his wife, their 3-year-old daughter and newborn baby boy visited Farber at the dispatch center to thank her for her assistance.
“She spoke with conviction, with authority. But more importantly, she sounded like she knew what she was doing, like she’d been through this a million times,” Dow said.
Following the delivery, Dow said he considers Farber as an extended part of their family.
