MOBILE, Ala. — A man was arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase in a stolen ambulance.
FOX News reported that Jamon Stegall was in custody of Providence Hospital security when he escaped and took off in an ambulance that was near the emergency room, according to police.
“As [police] arrived, the suspect jumped in the ambulance and drove off and officers pursued him,” Mobile Police Department officials said.
Police said Stegall flipped the ambulance after making an “evasive maneuver” to avoid a patrol car.
Stegall was charged with theft of property and attempt to elude.
“Everyone is safe, no one is hurt, everyone took appropriate measures,” Providence Hospital officials said.
