BRADFORD, Vt. — Vermont State Police say two members of an ambulance crew were hurt when their vehicle fell 60 feet from a bridge on Interstate 91 in the town of Bradford.

Police say the Calex ambulance was returning from a call when the vehicle, driven by 45-year-old Jay Wood of Danville, went out of control on an icy bridge at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police say the roads were snow covered and there were a number of accidents in the area.

Wood and crew member, 25-year-old Julian Benitez, were wearing seatbelts.

Wood and Benitez, according to published reports, were taken the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., where on Sunday they were reported to be in stable condition.
