BETTENDORF, Iowa — A Quad City baby born over the weekend has a whopper of a tale to tell, after his mom gave birth on an I-74 off-ramp in Bettendorf.

Jessica Armstrong and her fiance were headed to the hospital Saturday, but the baby didn’t want to wait.

Jessica’s water broke in the car. So the couple alerted an ambulance that was driving nearby to get their attention.

“So I rolled down down the window and all of a sudden, she’s having a baby, NOW!” paramedic Jessica Adams said.

Staffers released Ethan from the hospital on Sunday.
