Patient Dies After MedSTAR Helicopter Crash

WASHINGTON — The National Transportation Safety Board is leading the investigation into the crash of a MedSTAR helicopter that went down Tuesday afternoon on the grounds of the U.S. Soldiers and Airmen’s Home as it was approaching Washington Hospital Center.
The company that owns the helicopter is conducting its own investigation and says it is still too early to know anything for sure.
“The helicopter is pretty much intact, and everybody’s talking, so I feel that certain we’ll get to the bottom of this relatively quickly,” said Larry Pietropaulo, of CJ Systems Aviation. ...
