LOWELL, Mass. — Trinity EMS of Lowell has received the U.S. Department of Defense Patriot Employer Award.
John Chemaly and Gary Sepe, co-owners of the Lowell-based ambulance company, were nominated for the award by one of their employees, Ciline Pinet, a Trinity EMT for more than six years and formerly of the Navy. The award is for Trinity’s strong support given to Pinet during her military service.
Trinity’s Chris Dick said the primary support the company has given Pinet is “the flexibility we extended not only to her but others in the military. I also know our Trinity family was there for her with emotional support, phone calls and letters. We have supported her and others monetarily in the past, especially around the holiday, but we try to play that down a little.”
The award is to recognize and thank employers of military-service members for their support and understanding of their military commitments.
“John and Gary have been extremely generous to me throughout my commitment with the U.S. Navy,” Pinet said. “They are very deserving of this award.”
Employers qualify for recognition when they practice leadership and personnel policies that support employee participation in the Guard and Reserve.
This is the first time Trinity EMS has received the Patriot Employer Award.
“Gary and I were overwhelmed by the recognition,” Chemaly said. “We make every effort to support all our employees and especially those who have selflessly joined the United States armed forces to help protect this great country.”
