Oakley, Calif. — A 50-year-old man threatened to shoot members of an emergency crew who responded to a call for assistance after he allegedly went into a diabetic coma.
The incident occurred at 9:30 p.m. Friday evening in the 1300 block of Portsmouth Street.
The emergency team left the house after the man threatened them, said Oakley police Sgt. D.J. Watts.
He did not display a weapon, Watts said.
The man then turned off the lights and refused to come out.
He emerged at 10:25 p.m. and was subdued by a police dog. He was then taken to county hospital in Martinez for treatment and a mental health evaluation, Watts said.
