LOS ANGELES — Looking to expand its laffer offerings following years of success on the drama side, USA Network is teaming with Denis Leary on a U.S. adaptation of the Brit comedy series “Sirens.”
Leary, who writes, exec produces and plays a fireman on FX’s “Rescue Me,” will develop and co-write the half-hour pilot about two young paramedics with Bob Fisher. Leary and his Apostle shingle partner Jim Serpico will exec produce, along with Fisher, Hal Vogel and David Aukin. Pilot will be produced by Fox Television Studios in conjunction with Daybreak Pictures.
“Our half-hours will be written and produced by creators with a specific and unique point of view,” said Bill McGoldrick, USA senior VP of original programming. “Denis and Jim have brought those two qualities to everything they’ve done.”
USA has four other pilots awaiting possible series orders: “Common Law,” “Eden,” “Over/Under” and “Wild Card.”
