Community mourns loss of beloved paramedic

HOPKINS COUNTY, Tex. – A well-known paramedic was honored with a touching tribute this week after passing away Saturday.

The community honored Bobby Don Shelton, 48, with a motorcade of first responders to thank him for over 25 years of work, according to KLTV.

Shelton previously worked as a critical care paramedic and was employed as a field training officer at the time of his passing. His decades-long career of service also included work for the Perryville Volunteer Fire Department, where he served in leadership positions and saved many lives in his 15-year run as Medical Officer.

Shelton leaves behind six children and seven grandchildren.
