Army medic dies from injuries

A Fort Bragg paratrooper who was injured in a roadside bomb explosion March 5 that killed six other soldiers has died from his injuries.

Sgt. Joshua Boyd, 30, died Thursday at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston in Texas.

He was a medical trauma specialist assigned to 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat team, according to a Fort Bragg news release.

Boyd, who was from Abilene, Texas, joined the Army in September 1997 as an infantryman, the release said. He was honorably discharged after his first full term of service, the release said, but in April 2002, he voluntarily signed up again. ...
