WALWORTH, Wisc. — A man suspected of being drunk crashed his SUV into a car carrying a man and three children Thursday night in Walworth County, killing a 6-year-old boy, police said.

According to the Walworth County sheriff ‘s office: The man, Scott Dragotta, 44, of East Troy, was driving a Chevrolet Suburban north on county Highway N in the Town of Troy about 8:10 p.m. when he ran a stop sign and struck a Saturn Vue traveling west on state Highway 20.

Both vehicles came to a rest in the front yard of a nearby house.

Deputies found 6-year-old Treyton E. Kilar of Whitewater unresponsive in the Vue’s backseat. The boy was rushed to Waukesha Memorial Hospital, where he died.

Treyton’s father, Michael S. Kilar, 44, of Whitewater, was driving the Vue. He suffered critical injuries and also was taken to Waukesha Memorial Hospital. Two other children in the Vue were not injured. They were identified as Treyton’s 5-year-old sister, Kindyl E. Kilar, and Rosemary L. Jaskolski, 15, of Whitewater.

A news release from the sheriff ‘s office did not explain the relationship between Jaskolski and the Kilars.

Dragotta also is suspected of being involved in a hit-and-run crash that occurred a few minutes earlier in the Town of Lafayette and that caused injuries. He was arrested and was to make his initial court appearance Friday afternoon.
