PRINCE ALBERT, Canada — At least one ambulance was destroyed and several others may have been damaged after a fire broke out at a storage building in northern Saskatchewan.

The blaze at the Parkland Ambulance building in Prince Albert happened Saturday afternoon.

In addition to ambulances, the building housed an ATV, a rescue trailer and a disaster trailer.

Parkland Ambulance spokesman Brian Reichle says he doesn’t know if the remaining three or four ambulances will be usable, noting smoke damage will have to be completely removed before they are put into service.

Reichle says the ambulances in the building were extra ambulances, and he doesn’t expect emergency service to be disrupted.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
