2 injured after ambulance collides with dump truck

The crew had just responded to call for a four-month-old child who was deceased and were transporting her body

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Two people were injured after an ambulance collided with a dump truck on Friday morning. It happened at 6th Avenue South and 6th Street South in Birmingham.

Matt Russell with the Birmingham Fire and Rescue says an ambulance driver and a public works employee collided. Both drivers were taken to the hospital complaining of neck and back injuries. Two paramedics were working in the back of ambulance. They were thrown around during the wreck but not injured.

The paramedics were transporting the subject of a death investigation at 211 Roosevelt Court SW. Lt. Sean Edwards with Birmingham PD says they responded to call of a three-month-old baby girl who was deceased. Paramedics were transporting the baby when ambulance wrecked.
