CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a hit-and-run that involved an ambulance in east Charlotte Thursday morning.
Police said a vehicle pulled in front of a First Health Regional EMS ambulance on Albemarle Road and collided with the ambulance around 4 a.m. After the two vehicles collided the ambulance slammed into a power pole near Farm Pond Lane.
The driver of the vehicle tried to drive off, but instead took off on foot. Police were able track the suspect down and take him into custody a few moments after the incident.
