ALSACE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man was arrested after refusing EMS treatment for his daughter who was involved in a dirt bike crash.
Reading Eagle reported that police were called to the scene of the crash when they were told that Raymond Howe was refusing emergency treatment for his daughter.
Witnesses said Howe arrived on the scene shortly after the crash, and instructed Oley Fire Ambulance not to treat her. He left the scene and came back with a vehicle to transport her to the hospital, and almost hit an EMS provider while driving away.
Howe said he did not want the ambulance to take his daughter to the hospital because it was too expensive. He was charged with endangering the welfare of children, obstructing emergency services, disorderly conduct, careless driving and related offenses.
