ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Two Anne Arundel County firefighters have been discharged from the shock trauma center in Baltimore where they were treated for minor injuries Thursday evening after their ambulance collided with a tanker truck on Telegraph Road in Severn.
County fire department spokesman Capt. Russ Davies said Friday morning that both firefighters, from the Harmans-Dorsey station, were discharged from the hospital the night before after being treated for minor injuries.
Both were wearing seatbelts and are expected to return to work soon, Davies said.
The accident happened just after 7 p.m. under the overpass for Route 100.

Telegraph Road was shut down for about three hours for a police investigation.
The ambulance was traveling south on Telegraph Road responding to a medical call in Severn with its emergency sirens and lights activated, said Anne Arundel County police department spokeswoman Cpl. Jacklyn Davis.
A tanker truck did not stop and yield, and the ambulance hit the truck, Davis said.
Several citizens stopped to help pull the firefighters from the ambulance, including a nurse who rendered medical care until paramedics arrived, Davies said.
Davis said it appears as though the tanker truck was at fault.
By 7:40 p.m. one northbound lane was open but southbound lanes were still closed. There were reports the tanker was leaking fuel.
County police said the roadway was finally opened around 10 p.m.
Davies said an internal investigation will be conducted to determine whether the collision was avoidable under normal fire department protocol.
