Ambulance flips in collision; EMTs, child hurt

The patient and EMS workers suffered minor injures and the other driver has been arrested after attempting to flee

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A vehicle struck an ambulance early Friday morning, causing it to flip on its side. The Rural Metro ambulance was transporting a child to Women and Children’s Hospital just after midnight, near Elmwood Avenue and Bryant Street.

A Rural Metro supervisor tells News 4 that the patient in the ambulance was taken to the nearby hospital. In addition the two Rural Metro workers suffered bumps and bruises in the crash.

Buffalo Police said they arrested someone in connection to the crash. The driver allegedly tried fleeing the scene on foot, but was arrested a short time later.
