4 hurt when N.M. ambulance crashes, rolls

CHAVES COUNTY, N.M. — An ambulance crashed and rolled over Tuesday afternoon on U.S. 70 Northeast near Roswell, injuring a Curry County deputy, two EMS providers and a prisoner.

Curry County Court Deputy Amy Jo McKenna was assisting with a court-ordered prisoner transport, NewsChannel10 reported.

The Texico ambulance was traveling from Clovis to Roswell.

All four people in the ambulance were transported to Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell, and McKenna was later airlifted to a medical center in El Paso.

The crash is being investigated.
