TURNER, Maine — Two paramedics were transported to the hospital following an ambulance crash with a pickup truck Sunday.
Androscoggin County Sheriff Eric Samson said the Med-Care ambulance, which was transporting a patient, rear-ended a pickup truck that was stopped at a red light, according to the Sun Journal. The pickup truck then rear-ended another vehicle in front of it, which was also stopped at the red light, Samson said.
Two crewmembers in the ambulance were transported to the hospital due to neck pain, and another person in one of the other vehicles was hurt but not transported to the hospital.
The crewmembers transported were both paramedics, according to WGME. The sheriff’s department reported that the injuries to the medics and the other person were minor.
The patient did not sustain additional injuries in the collision and was taken to the hospital in another ambulance.
The crash is under investigation.
