WYOMING, Mich. — A 5-year-old boy called 911 to ask for someone to bring him lunch.
USA Today reported that Iziah Hall asked the responding dispatcher, Sara Kuberski, “Can you bring me McDonald’s?”
Kuberski said she couldn’t, but relayed the message to police officer Dan Patterson, who did bring the boy lunch.
“I was laughing to myself,” he told WZZM. “[Five]-year-old calls dispatch and orders McDonalds.”
When Patterson arrived at the house, he didn’t get the warmest welcome from Iziah.
“I think the first thing he said to me was,” ‘My grandma’s gonna be so mad, can you please go away?’” Patterson said.
The officer waited until Iziah’s grandmother, who was asleep, came to the door and explained the situation. Patterson taught Iziah the appropriate time to call 911 and informed his grandmother that Iziah had reached 911 by using a deactivated cell phone.
“We get a lot of people who are letting their kids play on their cellphones and a lot of them are deactivated and parents don’t realize they can still call 911,” Kuberski said.
