Ambulance strikes teen on bike

The ambulance stopped immediately and EMTs provided medical aid; the boy suffered bruises and broken bones

GALVESTON, Texas — A 15-year-old boy suffered multiple injuries after he was struck by an ambulance while riding his bike.

A Galveston EMS ambulance hit him around 10:30 p.m. Sunday while traveling westbound on Seawall Boulevard, KTRK reports. The teen was riding eastbound also in the westbound lane of traffic. His bicycle did not have any lights.

The ambulance pulled over immediately and provided medical aid. He suffered multiple bruises and broken bones.

No charges have been filed.

Robert Gift Robert Gift Thursday, July 31, 2014 1:09:57 PM Teen should be charged for no reflectors or lights. Did he suddenly swerve into the ambulance's path. I do not blame him for riding FACING traffic.
