ALLENTOWN, Pa. — A motorist suffered a health problem Monday night before he crashed into a utility pole at Route 100 and Route 222 in Upper Macungie Township, police said.

Jean R. Leveille, 61, of Reading was driving northeast on the Route 222 off-ramp to Route 100 about 9:20 p.m. when his sport utility vehicle went off the highway, township police said.

Officer Donald Fregede said he did not know the extent of Leveille's internal injuries, but the driver was able to speak with paramedics before Cetronia Ambulance took him to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.
