Ohio school bus, truck collide; injuries reported

8 children, 3 adults were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after pickup truck driver lost control on icy road

The Associated Press

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio — Authorities in southwest Ohio say eight children and three adults were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a pickup truck driver lost control on an icy road and hit a school bus head-on.

The State Highway Patrol says the truck sideswiped another vehicle and hit the bus.

Sgt. Tom Bloomberg says the bus driver, the truck driver and the truck's passenger had moderate injuries and the children had minor ones.

A hospital spokeswoman says the children are in good condition. Police say the 37 other children were taken to school on another bus.
