Utilize space in your gear bag

Contributed by: EMS1 Staff

Sometimes being a smart and efficient medic requires you to be a smart and efficient packer. Consider your gear bag, defibrillator carrying case or any other packs as your first opportunity to prepare for your calls. Having the right equipment and supplies handy when treating a patient could make a significant difference.

Keep a few preloaded medications in your defibrillator carrying case if there is any space available. This will ensure that you have fast access to ALS medications for calls that require them, especially when you do not have an ALS kit close by.
