Make sure to avoid unexpected and unnecessary costs when purchasing AEDs by ensuring that the device is programmed to the latest American Heart Association requirements.

The cost of reprogramming an AED can reach upwards of $500 for each device in order to meet regulation. When purchasing an AED, ask the distributor to include future software revisions with the device at no additional cost. This will ensure that your AEDs are meeting standards for a good number of years.
