Position Title: Patient Accounts Specialist

Job Description

Initial & rebilling of patient accounts, posting account receivables & adjustments, prepare daily bank deposits, working collection accounts, answering billing questions via phone, in person & written correspondences, as well as other routine office type duties. The position is a M-F 8a-5p full time position offering negotiable wage based on prior experience, as well as a generous benefits package.

Additional Information

Southwestern Michigan Community Ambulance Service (SMCAS) is a municipally owned Advanced Life Support Ambulance Service providing emergency and non-emergency responses and transports in SW Lower Michigan.

Job Requirements

  • Age 18
  • Education HS Diploma or GED
  • Experience Preference given to those with prior billing experience
  • Additional Requirement :
    Applicants must meet these minimum requirements: HS Diploma or GED, possess excellent oral & written communication skills, experience working with computers & software programs, willingness to attend meetings & educational training beneficial to the position and must be able to pass pre-hire drug screening and back ground check. Prefer individuals with prior experience in EMS or medical related insurance billing, knowledge of Tri-Tech billing software (formerly Sweet Billing) and knowledge of current Medicare & Medicaid guidelines, requirements & laws.
