EDNA, Texas — A Ford F-350 struck a Jackson County ambulance around 9 a.m. Tuesday as the ambulance was responding to a grass fire off U.S. Highway 59 South, injuring both drivers, a trooper said.

They were taken to hospitals by private vehicle, Department of Public Safety Trooper Brandon Curlee said. Both were released after treatment.

The 39-year-old paramedic was taken to Jackson County Healthcare Center in Edna by a police officer.
