WHITEHOUSE, Ohio — An Ohio firefighter/paramedic died eight days after suffering a stroke at his station, according to IAFF Local 3544.

Captain Gary L. Studer, 61, failed to respond to a call on the morning of June 20, and was found unconscious by his partner, according to Billy Goldfeder of firefighterclosecalls.com. His wife, Jeanette, was with him at the hospital when he died on June 28.

Captain Studer was a 30-year member of the Whitehouse Fire Department. He was a member of the Ohio Society of Fire Service Instructors and the Ohio Fire Chiefs' Association.

Funeral services will be held July 3 at the Whitehouse Fire Department.
