Texas man arrested after punching medic inside ER

BROWNSVILLE, Texas — A man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly attacked a paramedic inside the emergency room of a local hospital.

ValleyCentral.com reported that police arrested Edward Raul Gonzalez on an assault of a public servant charge.

Gonzalez was banging on a hallway door inside the emergency room at the time of the incident. The paramedic opened the door and Gonzalez allegedly lunged at him and punched him in the face, according to the report.

A motive for the attack was not clear but security guards and other hospital personnel were able to subdue Gonzalez until police arrived, according to the report.

Gonzalez appeared before a judge and was issued a $10,000 bond.
