MONROE COUNTY, Ga. — A firefighter was injured after being hit by an ambulance Wednesday afternoon.

13WMAZ reported that the firefighter is in stable condition and officials are still sorting out details of the accident to find out what went wrong.

Firefighters were responding to a medical call when the ambulance got stuck in mud. The firefighter was behind the ambulance when he was hit, according to the report.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is also investigating the case.
