IOWA CITY, Iowa - An Iowa City police officer assisted with a special delivery while on patrol late Sunday night. Officer Kevin Wolfe helped a woman deliver her third child at the intersection of Gilbert and Jefferson Streets after pulling a black SUV over for speeding.

“Sir, we’re delivering a baby right here right now,” the male driver is heard yelling to Wolfe on dash camera video provided by the Iowa City Police Department. “I’m going to need your help.”

Wolfe, who has been on the Iowa City police force for more than six years, said he didn’t expect to see a baby when he arrived at the passenger side door of the car. “I had every expectation that when they said they were having a baby they meant there was a baby on the way,” he said. “The baby’s head and arms were out.”
