BRONX, N.Y. — The video shows the four-year-old and her mother walking down a street in New York's Bronx neighbourhood.
Suddenly a pit bull dog sprints across the road and begins mauling the girl in a ferocious and entirely unprovoked attack.
The mother clings to her child with one hand as she is spun around and around by the dog, which clamped its jaws onto the little girl. In a heroic act, the unidentified good Samaritan runs into the frame and throws himself at the dog, pulling it away from the bloody and frightened child.
