Thursday, March 07, 2013 8:32:46 AM I am an ex police officer so this strikes close to home for me. That said it is no secret that the DC area has a shortage of EMS personnel, in fact if I recall there was an article on here not to long ago about it. That said, I would hope that the officer received an ambulance based on Triage protocol and not based on the fact that he was a police officer. I get tired of seeing better treatment for "our own" than we give to standard, everyday joe patients.
Saturday, March 09, 2013 8:59:15 AM Cheer up it will get worse! Budget cuts are running about, 2 percent from Medicare for 2 months, real money! We can not man trucks with out paying our staff. I feel bad for the officer and anyone else that has to wait but, we can not have our cake and eat it too!
