He will be fined and was sentenced to five years probation for fabricating inspections of a crane which fell and killed seven people
NEW YORK — A crane inspector will not be going to prison for fabricating inspections of New York City cranes including one that collapsed and killed seven people.
Edward Marquette was sentenced to five years of probation on Wednesday.
He was acquitted last year of all charges related to the deadly crane accident on March 15, 2008. But he was convicted of falsifying records of other inspections.
