Pool fumes sicken 33 at elementary school
Medics transported one staff member to the hospital

FRESNO, Calif. — Thirty-three students and staff members at Ericson Elementary School in east central Fresno were treated by paramedics Thursday morning after they became ill from fumes from a nearby swimming pool resurfacing.
Fresno Unified spokeswoman Susan Bedi said one staff member was transported to a hospital from the school, near Yale and Chestnut avenues. The school released students at its regular time of 2 p.m.
