Some EMS and fire agencies continue to deny public access to ambulance reports, despite an opinion from the Wisc. attorney general that says to do so violates the state's open records law.

EMS1 Forums Post of the Week
"Say you worked for an EMS agency that prided itself on having a decent budget, good employee compensation/benefits, etc. That agency offered its employees a standard review schedule, where each employee was evaluated after six mos. of employment for one year, then annually after that. Each review entitled the employee to a maximum raise. If the review was not given on time, the employee is issued a check retroactively at the time of review. In other words, if your review is a month late, and you got a 10 percent raise, you are issued a check in the amount of one month's worth of 10 percent more than the hours you worked.

Now, what would be your reaction if these reviews were typically between six and 11 months late for every employee? Given that reaction, what would be your method of recourse? "
