Driver dies after collision with ambulance in Ohio

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — A woman died at UPMC Presbyterian last night after being involved in an accident with an ambulance in Steubenville, Ohio.

Jackie George, 52, of Steubenville, was pronounced dead at 6:46 p.m., nearly nine hours after the accident.

Ms. George was the driver of a vehicle involved in an accident with an ambulance on Sunset Boulevard in Steubenville at 10:03 a.m., according to the Allegheny County medical examiner's office. The ambulance was responding to a call at the time, the medical examiner's office said.

Ms. George first was taken to Trinity Hospital in Steubenville for stabilization and then flown to UPMC. Cause of death was blunt force trauma to the chest.
