Unidentified Paramedics treat an injured person as a California Highway Patrol officer investigates the scene of a multi-vehicle collision on the Golden gate Bridge Wednesday.
Officials say at least seven people were injured Wednesday afternoon on the world-famous span after a northbound station wagon veered into the southbound lanes and caused a series of crashes.

The California Highway Patrol says about 10 vehicles were involved.

The bridge was closed in both directions for about 40 minutes, and at least one lane was closed for an hour and a half. The span reopened in time for rush hour.

Patrol Officer Mary Ziegenbein says victims were treated at hospitals for a range of injuries.
