Adopt-an-EMT program comes to Pa. town

CitizensVoice.com

PITTSTON, Pa. — First came Adopt-A-Cop. Now comes Adopt-An-EMT — or any first responder, for that matter. Fallen Officers Remembered, a local group dedicated to supporting police officers, wants all area emergency crews to be safer when responding to calls.

Their widely successful Adopt-A-Cop program, which led to the donation of dozens of protective vests to area officers, is now expanding, the group’s founders Jaclyn Pocceschi Mosley and Gina Pocceschi Boyle say.

Their brother, Pittston native Rodney Pocceschi, was killed in the line of duty as a Virginia Beach, Va., police officer in June 2003. Ever since, they’ve been trying to ensure emergency responders make it home each day.
