The podcast series this week, featuring hosts Chris Cebollero and Kelly Grayson, discusses the recent outbreak of measles in California and the reality of how hard-hitting deaths of fellow co-workers are in the EMS community. Chris and Kelly also discuss the challenges and use of Narcan by bystanders as well as police officers in their clinical tip section of the podcast.

In their guest interview segment, Chris conducts an interview on Kelly to learn about his background, long-standing career and why he first got involved in EMS. Be sure to tune in next week to listen to Chris’ interview by Kelly.

Scott Bennett Scott Bennett Friday, April 11, 2014 6:49:06 AM I wouldn't be entirely comfortable administering Narcan as an EMT-B knowing what the possible side effects are and largely lacking the equipment / education to deal with them. Should we consider training Law Enforcement in the use of a BVM and possibly an NPA or OPA as a stopgap until EMS arrive on scene?
Jack Rennie Jack Rennie Monday, May 19, 2014 4:41:38 PM Giving Narcan to the public to admin will just change the nature of call from overdose to assault towards the person who gave it.
